Bradley Barcola opens door for shocking Liverpool transfer this summer
Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola has appeared to open the door to a surprise transfer to Premier League champion Liverpool this summer.
Barcola enjoyed an impressive season with PSG, helping the French champion to win their first Champions League trophy, having played a key role in his side’s progression through the competition.
Highlights of the season for the 22-year-old winger and forward include his performances across two legs against Liverpool, with Luis Enrique’s side defeating the Reds on penalties in the last 16.
Liverpool are now looking in to bring in the French winger as Arne Slot wants to strengthen his squad.
According to The Sun, Barcola is on Liverpool’s shortlist.
The Reds are in search of a new centre forward, and Barcola’s versatility means that he can play up front and on the right wing when Mohamed Salah is unavailable could make him the ideal candidate.
L’Equipe reported in April that Barcola was ‘hesitant’ to sign a new contract with PSG as he wanted to wait and see whether the French giants added to their attacking ranks over the summer.
However, PSG have no intention of selling Barcola to either Liverpool or Bayern Munich, who are also believed to be interested.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say that he ‘remains a central part of Luis Enrique’s long-term project’, and that the club consider him to be ‘non-transferrable’.
Liverpool are active in the transfer window as they are set to sign Bayern Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz for a potential fee of £114 million including add-ons which, if finalised, would break the British transfer record.
