Marcus Rashford is set for a new adventure in Spain, with Barcelona boss Hansi Flick reportedly approving a move for the Manchester United forward.

The 27-year-old has been forced to train alone at Carrington on his return to pre-season after falling out with manager Ruben Amorim. Rashford is pushing for a switch to Camp Nou, with Barca now preparing to open formal talks for a potential loan-to-buy deal.

Having failed in their pursuit of Nico Williams and Liverpool not interested in selling Luiz Diaz, Barcelona have now turned their attention to Rashford.

According to Matteo Moretto, Barcelona have stepped up their pursuit of Rashford following Flick’s approval to proceed with a move.

The Manchester United star, currently training alone, is open to a switch and is even willing to accept a pay cut. The La Liga champions hope to bring the England international in on loan with a purchase option for the summer of 2026.

As per the report, Barcelona sporting director Deco is set to hold new talks with Rashford’s representatives in the coming days. The player has made it clear he will only consider leaving Manchester United this summer if it means joining Barcelona. With personal terms unlikely to be an issue, the biggest hurdle now lies in negotiating with United over the structure of the deal.

Barcelona are preparing to submit their proposal and could look to finalise terms with Rashford before the end of the month.

United are willing to let go of Rashford on a permanent deal, however, the Red Devils may be forced to accept a loan as they continue to struggle with finances. All eyes are now on whether the clubs can strike a compromise before pre-season ramps up.
