Arsenal to sanction Trossard’s departure after Noni Madueke arrival
Arsenal are set to sanction the sale of Leandro Trossard to Fenerbahce in a deal worth a reported £20m ($27m) as Noni Madueke edges towards being the Gunners new signing.
Noni Madueke left Chelsea camp in the United States just hours before their victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup Final. The England international is edging closer towards securing a move to Arsenal with the Gunners expected to pay their London rivals £52m ($70m).
Sky Sports reports that Madueke will complete his medical later today. It is reported that Madueke has agreed to personal terms on a five-year deal. That deal will likely make Trossard surplus to requirements, with the Belgian now free to complete a switch to Fenerbahce, according to The Times.
Reports suggest Trossard agreed personal terms with the Turkish giants after talks with Jose Mourinho, who was able to convince the player of his vision and project.
Talks over a contract renewal between the north London club and the 30-year-old winger reached an impasse earlier this summer, while the signing of Madueke and pursuit of other left-sided attacker signalled Trossard would slip down the pecking order at the Emirates.
Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023, for an initial fee of £20m, plus £7m in add-ons. He has scored 28 goals in 124 appearances for the club.
