Barcelona are not considering offering Andreas Christensen a new deal despite opening talks with Eric Garcia and Frenkie de Jong, who are into the final year of their existing deals.

Despite not being considered in the first eleven, Christensen has said publicly he wants to stay and continue his career with the Catalan giants. However, it’s still unclear if he’ll be able to continue with the Catalonia giant. ,

According to Marca, Barcelona will wait and see what happens over the next few months before making a final decision on tte Denmark international’s future.

The report says that Barca are generally happy with Christensen but do have some doubts when it comes to extending his contract.

Barca want to first decide on the make-up of their backline for next season, look at possible transfer options and see how Christensen performs after missing most of the previous campaign through injury.

The former Chelsea star fitness record seems to be a big factor, but if he can remain injury free and perform at a high level then it’s not ruled out he could be offered a new deal.

Christensen has made eight appearances so far in all competitions for Barcelona this season, and is currently with the Denmark squad where he shone in midweek in a big win over Belarus in World Cup qualifying.
