Liam Delap makes bold decision on Chelsea future despite limited game-time
Liam Delap is determined to fight for his place at Chelsea following a disappointing debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The 23-year-old arrived at Chelsea with lots of expectation but things has failed to work out. Delap managed just one Premier League goal and two in 41 appearances across all competitions.
He finished the campaign without scoring in his final 26 matches.
With Xabi Alonso now taking over the reigns at Stamford Bridge, there are possibilities Delap who cost Chelsea £30 million transfer fee might be allowed to leave.
However, BBC reports Delap wants another season to silence his critics.

Those close to the player acknowledge that expectations have not been met so far, though they also point to a challenging adaptation period.
The arrival of Joao Pedro last summer gave Delap a huge challenge, with the Brazilian international establishing himself as one of Chelsea’s key attacking players.
Pedro’s form has pushed Delap further down the pecking order, leaving his role in the squad uncertain.
The Englishman will now be hoping Xabi Alonso wants a player of his caliber. Chelsea’s lack of European football next season means a bloated squad must be trimmed.
Delap has been linked with the likes of Newcastle United but no official statement from the club or players regarding a potential deal.
