Scott McTominay to undergo heart procedure as Napoli issue statement
Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is set to undergo a heart operation to correct a ‘mild arrythmia‘, Napoli have announced.
McTominay arrived in Napoli for £40m in 2024 and has gone on to enjoy a huge period of success in Italy, scoring 27 goals in 82 games, winning Serie A last season.
However, the talented midfielder will sit out of some games due to the heart procedure.
Napoli’s statement confirm he’ll be back after the international break.

A statement from the Serie A side on Tuesday read: “Following the onset of a mild benign arrhythmia, Scott McTominay will undergo corrective surgery using a cardiac arrhythmia ablation (PFA) in the coming days. He will be available again after the international break.”
PFA is a catheter-based procedure that uses short electrical pulses to target abnormal heart tissue and treat cardiac arrhythmias. It is a relatively recent technique that is increasingly being used in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders.
