Rafael Leao is set to make a decision on his future at AC Milan, with the Italian side actively working to secure the long-term future of their star winger with a lucrative new contract extension.
Portuguese star, Rafael Leao has been linked with top clubs across Europe in the past and his current situation at AC Milan is still being monitored. The Italian side are now prepared to offer him a juicy deal he’ll want to consider.
According to Calciomercato, following the trend of extending key figures like Mike Maignan, the Rossoneri are determined to keep the Portuguese star as the definitive face of the club’s new era under the guidance of Massimiliano Allegri.
The discussions have been ongoing since late January, led by sporting director Igli Tare, aiming for a commitment well beyond his current 2028 expiry.

Report claim internal negotiations are progressing very positively regarding a significant salary increase to €6 million, however, a massive €175m release clause remains a critical hurdle to overcome before officially finalising the highly anticipated deal.
Leao is already the highest earner in the Milan squad, but the management are prepared to further reward his massive influence on the pitch, where he has already amassed an impressive 80 goals in the famous red and black shirt.
The Portuguese and his family will listen to Milan’s offer and make a decision in the next few weeks.
Allegri has given his blessing for the club to improve Leao’s deal after getting to know his forward better over the last few months, however, the Portuguese has the final say, with Premier League clubs interested in his service.
