Confirmed! Man United and Ruben Amorim set for quickfire reunion

Manchester United will face their former manager Ruben Amorim just months after the Portuguese was shown the exit door at Old Trafford.

Amorim was sacked by United in January with the Red Devils sixth in the Premier League table. His successor, Michael Carrick rectified the Red Devils season as they finished in third place to book a place in next season’s Champions League.

Despite not being able to impress at United, Amorim has been appointed as AC Milan’s new boss to replace Massimiliano Allegri.

Amorim will now come face to face with some of the old players when United and Milan face off this summer in a pre-season friendly in Wroclaw, Poland, on August 15, a couple of weeks before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

The friendly match will give both sides a chance to focus on their transfer rebuilds, with United targeting a host of players to overhaul Michael Carrick’s squad.

Milan are also trying to rebuild their team with forward Rafael Leao, currently playing for Portugal at this summer’s World Cup, angling for a move away from the San Siro.

Leao posted on his social media accounts that he was planning to leave the club after a disappointing campaign, and United are coincidentally one of the sides that are believed to be linked with him.
