Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick is not dwelling on the pressure from fans after his team suffered a historic collapse against Brighton.
The Red Devils threw away a two-goal lead to lose at home for the first time in 50 years under such circumstances.
Despite racing into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Shea Lacey and Mason Mount, United were outclassed by a clinical Brighton side, a result that led to fans venting out their frustration at full time.
As the full-time whistle blew, the Stretford End made their feelings crystal clear, booing the team off the pitch and directing audible chants of “what the f****** hell was that?” toward the dugout and the departing players.
The defeat is the third in just six games for the Red Devils across all competitions this season.
After the game, Carrick was asked if he feared for his job or feel the weight of the growing scrutiny.

The former United midfielder was dismissive of the outside noise. “I don’t feel under pressure,” he said per Manchester Evening News. “Either way, that doesn’t bother me one bit. It generally doesn’t bother me one bit. I understand what goes on outside and how the world works, but it doesn’t bother me.”
While Carrick remains personally unfazed, he was quick to challenge his players to develop the mental fortitude required to represent Manchester United.
He urged his squad to find their internal motivation and rediscover the confidence that saw them succeed during the previous campaign.
”We all know it’s there,” he said. “We know it’s there whether it’s good or whether it’s not good. How you deal with that is the important thing. Being here toughens you up over a period of time, and it depends on how you deal with it.
With three losses already on the board, United will be eager to get a positive result from the upcoming trip to Fulham.
