Ruben Amorim confronted by Sporting players ahead of Man Utd move

Manchester United are currently speaking with Sporting Lisbon as they are willing to sign their manager Ruben Amorim.
United are on the lookout for a new manager after Erik ten Hag was shown the exit door. Amorim has been identified as a perfect suit for the club and United has opened negotiations with Sporting and were willing to trigger his €10m release clause.
Though the move is looking likely, Amorim was on the dugout for Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night.
Speaking after the match, the Portuguese claimed no decision had been made at this stage.
“Nothing is decided yet… I don’t know if it’s the farewell game or not,” he told reporters.
“I have nothing more to say, we are analysing the game and anything I say will only create more noise. There is nothing concrete…”

However, latest reports from A BOLA has now claimed some Sporting players are not happy with the move and ‘confronted’ their manager ahead of their game with Madeira.
The report states the likes of Viktor Gyökeres and Morten Hjulmand are among those aggrieved, as they were convinced to stay over the summer due to Amorim’s project.
Reports claimed Amorim was key in keeping them at the club, making his mid-season exit particularly frustrating.
Former chairman of Sporting’s General Assembly, Jaime Marta Soares also slammed Amorim’s decision to quit the club for United.
“[Ruben Amorim’s] attitude and personality seemed like one thing, but that fell apart from one moment to the next. His love, passion, and dedication to Sporting were just fantasy situations,” Soares told Radio Renascenca.
“He was the one who created an environment with an entire Sporting fanatic nation around him, who adored and respected him. He shouldn’t have spat in the plate that gave him his soup.”
“I’m a fan of Ruben Amorim, but there are things that shouldn’t be allowed. It was at Sporting that he made his name,” he continued.
“If he hadn’t let himself get caught up in the dream of making millions, and since he was adored by Sporting fans, he should have thought about leaving through the big door and not this way. Sporting fans will certainly react.”
