Real Madrid makes final decision on Sergio Ramos amidst injury blows

Real Madrid are currently going through a tough phase in their defensive line with Dani Carvajal out of the season and now Eder Militao out for a long period.

While Madrid are still on the search for a new right back after Dani Carvajal’s injury, Eder Militao and Lucas Vazques on Saturday becoming the latest additions to the players out injured.

Madrid are now in dire need of reinforcements in centre-back and right-back positions. Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked with the Spanish giant but no offer has been made.

Also, Madrid need a new center back with Antonio Ruediger, Ferland Mendy, Vallejo and Fran Gracia, the only defenders available for the Los Blancos in their senior squad to choose from.

Legendary captain Sergio Ramos has been identified as a short-term solution but Madrid are not willing to take that route.

Ramos remains without a team since leaving Sevilla FC. The free-agent rule permits Real to sign him immediately, despite the transfer window remaining shut.

However, a Spanish media report stated that the relationship between Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and Ramos is not very warm, making the latter’s comeback almost impossible.

According to the decision-makers in Madrid, Sergio Ramos “is a closed chapter”, AS said in a report.

At his age, the man who delivered Real’s Champions League ‘La Decima’ is highly unlikely to match the club’s demands, they believe. Perez’s “broken relationship” with him is another factor that makes his “return practically impossible,” AS added.

Sergio Ramos has been without a team since July 1, when he ended his contract with Sevilla FC. AS claims that Ramos wants to end his career in Europe and is hoping for a bid from one of the big boys.
