Lewandowski joins elite company of Messi, Ronaldo UCL record

Robert Lewandowski once again proved why he’s ranked among the best forward in history as he helps Barcelona secure a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Brest in the Champions League.
Lewandowski scored two goals on the night and this saw him set a new record. His first goal of the night saw him enter the elite company of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on the list of players with at least 100 Champions League goals.
Phenomenal, Lewandowski after the game expressed his delight in reaching the landmark figure.
“Years ago I didn’t think I would reach my 100th goal in the Champions League,” said the forward, who is still going strong at the age of 36.
“It’s good to have your name next to Cristiano and Messi. I’m very happy, I didn’t think I would score this many goals in the Champions League,” Lewandowski added.
Lewandowski’s current UCL goals tally stands at 101 and he went on to discuss Barcelona’s performance against Brest.
“We played as a team, we played slowly at times but with patience. The important thing is that we have 3 more points. We have to look not only at the Champions League but also at the league. We know that we have to play every game at 100%,” he said.
“For me, the most important thing is to win every game, scoring a goal is the solution to win but until the end of the year, you have to win every game,” the striker added.
