Jeremy Doku injury blow confirmed as Guardiola shares worrisome update

Manchester City are set to be without Belgium winger Jeremy Doku for some weeks as Pep Guardiola shares worrisome update on his star forward.

Doku has not featured for City in their last two matches against Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea after picking up an injury during the club’s 6-0 demolition of Ipswich Town.

While some fans believed it’s a minor knock, Guardiola has revealed that the Belgian is facing a lengthy spell out and will miss the must-win Champions League clash against Club Brugge. Additionally, Doku is doubtful for City’s crucial Premier League clash against Arsenal at the weekend.

Providing an update on Doku’s condition, the manager told reporters: “A while. I don’t know how much. But a while. He will not be ready for Wednesday for sure, I don’t think. For Arsenal, we’ll see.”

On a positive note, Guardiola will be able to call on defender John Stones’ who returned to action after more than a month against Chelsea. The England international came on as a second-half substitute replacing debutant Abdukodir Khusanov against the Blues.

January signing Omar Marmoush is likely to take Doku’s place on the left side of the attack against Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
