Ousmane Dembele backed to regain form following Luis Enrique criticism

PSG forward Ousmane Dembele has been backed to regain his scoring form after he was questioned by the club manager Luis Enrique.

Dembele has been putting up impressive performances this season and this has helped PSG stormed to the Ligue 1 title. The French team have also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will face Arsenal.

But heading into next week’s first leg at the Emirates Stadium, Dembele has hit a scoring problem.

Dembele has played four successive game without a goal. The Frenchman had just one shot on target and only two touches in Nantes box before being subbed off just after the hour mark.

It is the worst drought Dembele has experienced since December and Enrique is not pleased things are going this way.

However, Arsenal icon Emmanuel Petit does not believe that Dembele’s struggles to score are anything to worry about.

“There’s no let-up! In the Champions League quarter-finals, he was decisive, providing the assist in both matches. I don’t know what you’re expecting,” Petit told the Rothen s’enflamme podcast.

“What are you waiting for? For him to score, make assists, and win every match single-handedly? Not even two weeks ago, he was decisive against Aston Villa. Now, we’re only talking about the match against Nantes… I heard that on other shows, too, I fell out of bed.”

Petit’s confidence appears well-placed, with Dembele having scored 32 goals and notched 11 assists in all competitions.

Before travelling to Arsenal, PSG will first host Nice in the Parc des Princes and it’s left to see if Dembele will be rested for the match or given a chance to get back to form.
