‎Ajax are reportedly willing to sign Tolu Arokodare from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent basis.

‎Having failed to impress in his first season at Molineux, Arokodare was allowed to leave for the Dutch giants in the summer. His departure also came days after he was allegedly involved in a bust-up with Wolves new head coach Cesar Peixoto.

‎Arokodare has since impressed at Ajax and the Dutch giants are willing to activate the buy option included in his loan deal.

‎According to Africa Foot, Ajax are trying to be proactive to seal a permanent deal for the player before the season ends.

‎At this point in time, it is unclear whether Ajax are attempting to lower the unspecified fee that is already in place.

‎Nevertheless, the fact that the 25-year-old already has nine goals and three assists from 14 appearances may make any effort on that front difficult.

‎Despite only completing 90 minutes on three occasion in all competitions, Arokodare has proved to be a good signing for Ajax.

‎The Nigeria international has also spoken about his desire to stay in Ajax.

‎Following Ajax’s 2-0 Conference League win over Atalanta, Arokodare was asked about a longer stay in Amsterdam, the striker was cautious: “That’s something between Ajax and Wolves; I can’t say anything about it.”

‎Asked whether he would be open to a permanent move, Tolu gave a clearer answer: “Of course I’m open to that. I love it here. I love being here. The people are great, the supporters are great, the team are great, the club are great and you’re all great. But William is even nicer,” he joked.
