Alvaro Carreras clarifies alleged Antonio Rudiger altercation

Real Madrid defender Alvaro Carreras has broken his silence following reports of a training ground bust-up with Antonio Rudiger.

Claims emerged on Tuesday that tensions within the Los Blancos squad had reached a breaking point. However, Carreras has moved to clarify the situation through a public statement.

On Tuesday night, the former Manchester United star issued a firm statement via his Instagram account to clarify his standing within the Real Madrid squad. Carreras’ come after intense speculation regarding his conduct and a specific training ground flashpoint.

“In recent days, certain insinuations and comments have emerged about me that do not reflect reality,” Carreras wrote. “My commitment to this club and to the coaches I have worked with has been absolute from day one, and it will continue to be so. Since I returned, I have always worked with the utmost professionalism, respect and dedication. I have fought very hard to fulfill my dream of coming back home.”

Carreras also clarified the incident that reportedly occurred between him and Rudiger. Reports had claimed Rudiger was the instigator of the confrontation, with it alleged that the Germany international had slapped Carreras during a training session.

While Carreras did not name Rudiger specifically, he acknowledged that a flashpoint had occurred between himself and a fellow squad member, though he was quick to downplay the severity of the fallout.

“Regarding the incident with a teammate, it is an isolated issue of no relevance that is already resolved,” Carreras explained. “My relationship with the entire team is very good.”

Real Madrid have had a torrid season and this has affected the relationship of some players. Some
senior players have allegedly clashed behind the scenes.

Reports also confirmed an “unpleasant face-to-face meeting” between the manager and midfielder Dani Ceballos. While reports also surfaced of Kylian Mbappe showing frustration during training drills.
