‘Antony has no future at Manchester United’: Brazilian urged to stay at Betis
Manchester United winger Antony has been urged to make his current loan spell at Real Betis permanent as he does not have a future with the Premier League side.
Signed with lots of expectations in the summer of 2022, Antony failed to live up to his hype at Old Trafford under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim. He was eventually allowed to leave the Red Devils on loan to Real Betis in January.
Antony has found back his rhythm in Spain with the Brazilian already making eight goal contributions for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has however told Antony to remain with Real Betis as he claims the winger ‘has no future’ with the Red Devils.

Speaking to PokerFirma, Meulensteen said: “Antony has no future at Manchester United. If I was him, I’d stay at Real Betis, without a doubt. He’s never really lived up to the expectations or the price tag at United, but he’s found his feet in Spain. He seems to be a lot happier playing football and in life generally at Betis – which is the most important thing.
“If he returned to Manchester, he’d fall straight back into the rut he was in before he left, which wouldn’t be good for anybody. I can’t see him returning under any circumstance; it’s probably best for all parties that he joins Betis on a permanent deal.”
Antony has admitted that he is unsure about his future with Real Betis, but the club are supposedly keen on signing him permanently in the summer.
