Arne Slot sends warning to Liverpool stars after Nottingham Forest defeat
Liverpool’s good form to the season came to an end on Saturday afternoon when they were defeated in front of their home fans.
The Reds slumped to their first loss under their Arne Slot at the weekend – with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s fine strike securing victory for Forest. Since the defeat, eyebrows has been raised about Liverpool’s chances of winning the league.
Slot has now issued a strong warning to his Liverpool players, noting that “something is wrong”.
Speaking after the Forest defeat, Slot said: “Everyone can have their own opinion but it is too simple to put it down to rotation, but too many players not at their best level. If you drop home points in a game against Nottingham Forest then something is wrong.
“Forest made it difficult for us and when you don’t win you look at as many arguments as you can. I prefer to see the game back and what we didn’t do well and some of it was not related to rotation. We will never know if we would have won if [I] rotated.”
Liverpool will be back in action on Tuesday evening as they aim to get back to winning ways. The Reds kick off their Champions League campaign against Italian giants AC Milan at the San Siro.
Slot is likely to make some changes to the team that played on Saturday but the likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold are likely to retain their place in the team.
