Sad for him! Barca Chief breaks silence on Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s injury
Barcelona sporting director Deco says the Spanish giant have been saddened to hear of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s latest injury.
Having lost his place at Barcelona to Joan Garcia, Ter Stegen joined Girona on loan in the January transfer window, with the aim of playing regularly. However, things has failed to work out as the Germany International suffered a hamstring injury at the weekend and is now expected to be sidelined for some time.
Ter Stegen is likely to see his loan deal cut off as he’ll be allowed to return to Barcelona for treatment.
Asked about the situation, Deco admits it’s bad news for the Germany international.

“Marc asked us to play but it hasn’t gone as planned,” he told Catalunya Radio.
“We are all very sad for him. It was a great opportunity for him, and we’re disappointed by the injury he suffered. Now Girona and the medical team have to see how his recovery will proceed.”
Girona are expected to provide another update on Ter Stegen shortly amid fears he may have to go under the knife which could put his World Cup hopes on doubt.
Ter Stegen has been told he needs regular football to play at the next World Cup for Germany but this latest injury might see him lose his spot.
