Barcelona keen to re-sign Bayer Leverkusen star who left in 2015
Barcelona are reportedly pursuing a deal to re-sign left-back Alejandro Grimaldo from Bayer Leverkusen after another impressive season.
Bayern Leverkusen surpassed all odds last season to win the Bundesliga title but things have not worked out fine this season. Bayern Munich are just one win away from retaining the title they lost last season.
However, Leverkusen’s impressive performance have caught the eyes of various club across Europe and some of their players will depart in the summer for the right price.
Topping the list of potential departure is Alejandro Grimaldo.

Sky Germany, via Goal, report that Grimaldo has agreement with Leverkusen chiefs to return to his boyhood club, who left in 2015, for between €30million and €40m (£25m and £34m).
Barcelona sporting director Deco is keen on the Spain international, who’s dreamed of a return to Catalunya.
Grimaldo, 29, told El Periodico in March. “Yes, that is definitely a goal I have. I have it very clear in my mind, and the club (Leverkusen) knows it, too.
“I want to return to Spain in the medium to short term and experience living there, because after all, it’s my country. I want to play there and enjoy the experience.
“I grew up at La Masia. It’s the club where I grew up as a player and as a person, and it’s the club I wanted to play for since I was a child.”
Grimaldo was the youngest player to ever play in Segunda Division, the second-tier of Spanish football now known as LaLiga Hypermotion, achieving the feat at the age of 15 years and 349 days while playing for Barcelona B against Cartagena on September 4, 2011.
However, that record was broken by Barcelona new sensational player Lamine Yamal in 2022.
