Davies has developed into one of the world’s best left-backs in Germany and Vincent Kompany will not want to lose his services for nothing next summer.

Bayern are also preparing for life after Davies with the Bundesliga side exploring the possibility of signing Theo Hernandez or David Raum as a replacement.

Davies initially broke through as a winger for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS, playing 65 times and scoring on eight occasions. He was transformed into a defender at Bayern and has grown to become one of the best in his new position.
