Bayern Munich confirm talks with Barcelona top target

Published on

Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich have confirmed they are in talks with Joshua Kimmich over a new deal as he continues to be linked with a move away from Germany.

Kimmich is reportedly willing to take up a new challenge with Barcelona on standby over a possible summer move. The arrival of Hansi Flick as Barca coach have also given the Spanish side more chances of convincing Kimmich.

With Kimmich unconvinced on a contract extension beyond 2025, Barca are looking at securing a deal for the versatile player this summer.

Regardless of the current situation, Bayern Munich are working on a renewal, but their versatile star has so far been non-committal.

After edging into the final 12 months of his deal, Kimmich can openly discuss a free transfer with a non-German club at the start of 2025, and Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl is no clearer on his next step.

“He has a year left on his contract with us. We have decided to postpone any talks until he returns from his holidays”, as per quotes from Diario AS.

Bayern are currently demanding for €50m for the sale of Kimmich and that is currently out of what Barcelona can offer. However, the Catalonia can involve some young player in the deal to get their main man.
