Bayern Munich reportedly submit last offer to Alphonso Davies
Bayern Munich have made another attempt to keep Alphonso Davies at the German club as they reportedly present him with a seemingly ‘final offer’.
Davies is currently in the final months of his contract at Bayern Munich and will be allowed to speak with a new club in January. The Canadian international has been linked with top clubs across Europe, however, Real Madrid are tipped as his preferred destination.
Real Madrid are reportedly looking at bringing in Alphonse Davies next summer and will be glad to secure him on a free transfer.
The Spanish giant this summer signed Kylian Mbappe as a free agent after the Frenchman failed to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Davies is expected to follow similar route but Bayern Munich are willing to tie him down to a new deal.
According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl, the Bundesliga giant has submitted a best-and-final offer to Davies.
The club reportedly told Davies it’s a take or leave offer. The player has not responded yet. Vincent Kompany is a big fan of Davies. Nevertheless, a contract extension is still uncertain as things stand.
At a press conference on Friday, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund expressed optimism on Davies signing a new contract, saying:
“It makes me positive that ‘Phonzy’ is enjoying himself right now. The style of play suits him, he feels happy in Munich. He’s playing a lot and very well. At the moment it’s a good fit and we obviously hope that remains the case for longer.”
