Brentford eye former Manchester United coach as Thomas Frank replacement

Brentford's Thomas Frank is linked with the vacant managerial role at Tottenham Hotspur

Thomas Frank is reportedly on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur as their new manager and Brentford are interested in signing a former Manchester United manager.

In what was a shocking move, Tottenham parted ways with Ange Postecoglou just weeks after he delivered the Europa League title. The London club finished 17th in the table this past season and many believed European success will save the coach from being sacked.

Tottenham have now identified Brentford manager Thomas Frank as the perfect replacement for Postecoglou and as per The Mirror, the Bees would target ex-United coach Kieran McKenna at Ipswich Town if they lost their popular head coach.

McKenna, 39, was appointed by the Tractor Boys back in 2021. However, they are back in the Championship now following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Northern Irishman moved to Old Trafford back in 2016 and initially became their Under-18’s boss. He then worked his way up to joining their first-team coaching staff. McKenna then cut ties with the Red Devils when his move to Portman Road came about and he has impressed in his first number one managerial role in the game.

He guided Ipswich to back-to-back promotions from the third tier to the top flight. His success in the past few seasons have attracted interest from top clubs in England.

McKenna current deal with ends in 2028 and Brentford will have to put in some work to convince Ipswich to let go of their manager.
