Buonanotte joins Leeds United as Chelsea Loan Cut Short

Published on

Brighton midfielder Facundo Buonanotte has joined Leeds on loan after the Argentine’s temporary spell at Chelsea was cut short.

21-years-old Buonanotte made only one Premier League appearance for Chelsea, who beat Leeds to his season-long loan signing in September.

The twice-capped Argentina international played a further seven games in other competitions for the Blues, including Saturday’s 5-1 FA Cup third-round win at Charlton.

He has moved to Elland Road until the end of the season, with Leeds describing him as a versatile left-footer who can play in central areas behind the striker, on either wing or in a deeper role.

For Brighton, Buonanotte played 50 matches in all competitions before going out on loan spells.

Last season, the Argentine featured for Leicester, where he became one of the team’s leaders: 35 matches in all competitions, 6 goals and 3 assists.

Buonanotte could make his debut for his new club as early as Saturday, January 17, in a Premier League clash against Fulham.
