Real Madrid are set to face their biggest test this season when Barcelona visit Santiago Bernebeu for the first El Classico of 2024/25 football season.

Madrid put in a brilliant performance on Tuesday night to defeat Borussia Dortmund 5-2 and they will be eager to replicate that form against a Barcelona side that defeated Bayern Munich 4-1 on Wednesday night.

Victory against Barcelona on Saturday would ensure that the two clubs would be level on points at the top of La Liga. However, Madrid icon Guti has revealed why Madrid have not been in top Gear this season.

Guti believes that individuals’ egos are somewhat response. As per Marca, he will expect big things if that problem can be managed.

“I hope this generation wins more than ours. We had a great squad, but this generation has a lot of talent to win more things. It’s difficult to achieve it when there are so many egos in the dressing room, that’s Ancelotti’s big task.”

Vinicius Junior put in a show on Tuesday night as Real Madrid came from two goals behind to defeat Dortmund.

Barcelona winger Raphinha responded with an amazing performance against Bayern Munich. The Brazilian followed in Vinicius footsteps by scoring an hat trick as Barca defeated Bayern Munich.

Both player will be eager to continue their good form in front of goal while the likes of Yamal, Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Lewandowski will also be eager to make a mark.
