Chelsea scouts €40 million rated defender at ongoing Euro 2024
Chelsea have reportedly sent scouts to watch Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori in action at the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024.
The London club struggled to keep composure at the back last season, shipping in goals for fun. With Enzo Maresca now the club manager, Chelsea are looking to improve their defensive unit.
A report from Tuttosport has claimed that Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Riccardo Calafiori who is valued at €40 million.
Chelsea have parted ways with Thiago Silva upon the expiry of his contract, and the Brazilian will have to be replaced adequately.
Though Tosin Adarabioyo was signed on a free transfer from Fulham, Chelsea are reportedly looking at selling some players and this include a defender.

A sale will open another space and Calafiori would be the ideal long-term replacement.
Calafiori is capable of operating as a left-sided central defender as well as a left-back. Chelsea will have no problem paying his €40 million with the London club expected to generate income through players departure.
Despite being linked to other Premier League clubs, the opportunity to join a club like Chelsea is one Calafiori will not turn down.
It would be a major step up in his career, and he would get to showcase his qualities in the Premier League. It’s left to see if the 22-year-old will make the move to Stamford Bridge.
