FA Cup Holders Crystal Palace Dumped Out As Macclesfield Make History
Non-league side Macclesfield have written their name in their history books by knocking out FA Cup current holders Crystal Palace in the third round of the competition.
Crystal Palace defeated Manchester City to win the FA Cup trophy in 2025 and were favorites leading into their game against a sixth-tier club, Macclesfield.
However, things didn’t go according to plan. Paul Dawson gave Macclesfield the lead minutes before half time, with Isaac Buckley-Ricketts doubling their advantage on the hour mark.

Palace set up a grandstand finish after Yeremy Pino scored from a free-kick, but John Rooney’s side held on to achieve arguably the biggest upset in the competition’s history, sparking a huge pitch invasion.
The draw for the fourth round is set to take place on Monday and we are seeing a new winner this season.
