Arsenal miss out on 2025 Club World Cup after Champions League exit

Premier League side, Arsenal will not be playing at the 2025 Club World Cup tournament after being knocked out the UEFA Champions League by Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich defeated Arsenal 1-0 with Joshua Kimmich’s 63rd-minute header enough to put the Bundesliga giants into the semi-final of Europe’s premier competition.

Though Arsenal created various chances, Mikel Arteta’s men were unable to find a way past Manuel Neuer.

The defeat has now confirmed that Arsenal will be missing next year’s Club World Cup, joining the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United, Liverpool and AC Milan.

Europe holds 12 spots for the expanded format of the competition to played across the United States in June and July 2025.

A total of 32 teams across six confederations will feature in the inaugural event. Europe will be represented by Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Porto, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Salzburg.

Arsenal will now shift their focus to the Premier League title race where they are currently ranked second and two points behind league leaders, Manchester City.
