Former Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas has nothing but words of praise for Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo, noting that the youngster is destined to reach the very top.
Despite Manchester United’s bad form this season, Kobbie Mainoo has been able to prove himself in his first season with the senior squad.
Fabregas, who is currently in caretaker charge of Italian side Como, believes Mainoo has everything it takes to be United’s main man.
Speaking via the BBC’s Planet Premier League podcast, Fabregas said: “He’s not only the future in my opinion, but he’s the present already.”
“He can make a real difference.”
“He’s got a fantastic personality [it’s] like he’s been playing for a long time.
“To help him in the summer, they need to recruit players who can gain this quality on the pitch to make him more brilliant than what he is.
“With these talented players, the better quality they get around him, the better they get. So I am expecting a big summer transfer window for Manchester United… but next season he needs to be a key player no matter what.”
Having made his international debut for England against Brazil at Wembley back in March, Mainoo will be eager to continue his good form for club and country.
