Haaland Nets Winner as Norway Claim Thrilling Victory Over Denmark

Erling Haaland continued his impressive scoring form by netting twice as Norway defeated Denmark 3-2 in their opening Uefa Nations League match.

The Manchester City striker had already scored seven goals during Norway’s memorable World Cup campaign, which ended with a quarter-final defeat by England.

Making his first appearance for Norway since the tournament, Haaland scored his team’s second goal in Oslo before returning to complete the scoring with the winning strike.

Norway took the lead through Oscar Bobb, who received a pass from Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard before calmly curling the ball into the far corner.

Haaland then doubled the advantage four minutes later.

Talented winger Antonio Nusa created the opportunity after working his way into the penalty area and finding Haaland with a clever pass. The striker made no mistake, beating goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen with a first-time finish.

Norway added a third goal inside an 11-minute spell when Mikkel Damsgaard produced a superb free-kick from around 25 yards.

Denmark refused to give up, with former Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund pulling one goal back shortly after the hour mark.

The visitors continued pushing for an equaliser, but Norway restored their advantage through Haaland in the 74th minute.

A cleverly worked corner created space inside the penalty area, allowing Haaland to meet the delivery and fire a powerful finish past the goalkeeper for his second goal of the night.

There was still time for late drama when Norway substitute David Moller Wolfe was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in stoppage time.

However, Denmark could not find another equaliser and Norway held on for all three points.

The victory sends Norway to the top of League A Group 4, with Portugal beating Wales 1-0 in the other match in the group.
