Lionel Messi latest injury came during Argentina Copa America victory over Columbia. Despite watching from the sideline, Lautaro Martinez extra-time goal was enough for Argentina to seal a 1-0 victory over their opponent.
The eight-time Ballon D’or winner watched from the sidelines as soccer fans worldwide felt a tear in the eye, watching the man who the sport owes so much to crying on the sideline. Messi was spotted holding his right ankle, having removed his boot and sock, whilst supporting his teammates from the bench.
With Inter Miami midway through their 2024 season, Messi will be needed to help the MLS club achieve their goal.
Inter Miami head coach Tata Martino has now shared the latest update about Lionel Messi injury.
As per Hindustan Times, Tata Martino said: “The club’s medical report is out and the information is that regarding the times, it will surely be evaluated week by week, We are going to see just how his recovery is without taking any kind of risk.”
Messi’s participation playing at the Copa America has already seen the Argentine miss five games since his last appearances at the start of June.
