Jack Grealish to leave Man City this summer to revitalise England career
Jack Grealish is set to leave Manchester City in the summer transfer window to boost his chances of earning a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Grealish has endured a disappointing 2024/25 season. The 29-year-old’s season was marred by injury and a lack of gametime, he has since been named among the players expected to leave Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City intend to trim the wage bill ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and bring in four to five new signings to challenge for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles next season – which they have far from done in either competition this term.
Pep Guardiola has not been convinced by the former Aston Villa captain since the historic 2022-23 treble-winning campaign.
Grealish was left out of the travelling squad to Craven Cottage for Manchester City’s final Premier League game of the season against Fulham, a move that meant Guardiola is no longer interested in the England international.

Reports from Sun Sport claim Grealish is ready to call it quits and seal a permanent move away from Manchester to revitalise his England career in the summer after he was once again left out of Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions squad for June.
All signs point to a parting of ways between Manchester City and Jack Grealish in the summer and it would have to be said that bar the treble winning campaign from two years ago, Guardiola has all the reasons to move on his most expensive signing to launch a new era at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola’s decision to bring in 19-year-old January arrival Claudio Echeverri during the FA Cup Final loss to Crystal Palace with Grealish stuck to the bench also proved he’s no longer an important player in the squad.
All signs point to a parting of ways between Manchester City and Jack Grealish in the summer. It’s left to see where the England international will play football next season as he hope to reignite his career.
