Jurrien Timber predicts Arsenal summer transfer plans following injury setbacks
Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber believes Mikel Arteta alongside the club directors will be active in the transfer market after injuries hindered their Premier League title hopes.
Despite being tipped to win the Premier League last season, Arsenal failed to keep up with Liverpool as injuries to the likes of Bukayo Saka caused a huge setback.
Aside from Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz all spent large chunks of the season unavailable due to injuries, while Timber himself has revealed he had to play through severe pain before it was decided he would undergo surgery to fix his ankle problem.

Now, the Dutchman believes there will be a large amount of new faces arriving at the Emirates Stadium to address the issue that hampered their campaign.
He told Dutch talk show Matchday as quoted by Sport Witness: “It will definitely be a busy one for Arsenal. I think we’ll get a lot of players, because we had so many injuries last season. At one point we almost had no players left. So, they definitely want to get players for the depth.”
During his debut season at Arsenal, Timber suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and was forced to make only three appearances. However, he stayed fit for most of the 2024-25 term, playing in 48 games and scoring his first two goals for the club.
Just as Timber predicted, Arsenal are active in the transfer window as the club hope to bring in a new striker this summer. It is thought that Benjamin Sesko is manager Mikel Arteta’s favoured target ahead of Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres.
