Juventus head coach clarifies Dusan Vlahovic reported move to Arsenal
Premier League side Arsenal are reportedly interested in bringing in Dusan Vlahovic to the Emirates Stadium this January transfer window.
With the Gunners currently without a recognized forward and the shocking injury suffered by Gabriel Jesus, Vlahovic has been identified as a perfect fit to Mikel Arteta’s team.
However, Juventus head coach Thiago Motta has refused to be drawn on the future of Vlahovic amid Arsenal reported interest. With Randal Kolo Muani set to join Juventus from PSG, various reports have claimed Vlahovic will be moving abroad.
Speaking after Tuesday’s draw with Atalanta, Motta insisted Vlahovic was absent due to a fitness issue and that he was not prepared to discuss any transfer speculation.
“I do not talk about the transfer market,” Motta told reporters. “Dusan is recovering, he is not at 100 per cent and we cannot risk losing him for longer, so we’ll see what happens over the next three days.”
The Serbian striker could return to the fold when Juventus welcome AC Milan to the Allianz Stadium for Saturday’s Serie A clash.
Reports have claimed Arsenal had a loan bid rejected by Juventus, but it remains to be seen whether they return with a fresh proposal.
Arsenal’s reported offer comes at a time when Vlahovic has missed Juventus’ last two matches against Torino and Atalanta.
