Leny Yoro could face lengthy spell out injured, £59m signing spotted on crutches

Manchester United’s new £59million signing Leny Yoro could be ruled out of action for a lengthy period with a foot injury.

Yoro joined Manchester United from Lille earlier this month with the Red Devils beating off competition from Real Madrid, PSG and Liverpool. However, Yoro who has impressed during pre-season sustained an injury in United’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Though it was believed that it’s a knock he will shake off, latest development has indicated that he could be out long-term.

Yoro came off in the 33rd minute of the defeat and was pictured using crutches and wearing a protective plastic boot on his left foot at UCLA, United’s training base in LA.

The potential loss of Yoro for a prolonged period is a major blow for United and boss Erik ten Hag, who planned to start the new season with the 18-year-old at the heart of his new-look defence.

United are also currently without Lisandro Martinez. The Argentine star not yet back in training after helping Argentina to Copa America success – and he may not be ready to start the Premier League opener at home to Fulham on August 16.

Its left to see if Yoro will be fit in time to play Man United’s first game of 2024/25 football season.
