Leroy Sane makes transfer decision as he edges towards becoming a free agent
Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane has reportedly make a decision on his future as he edges towards becoming a free agent.
Sane’s contract at Bayern is set to run out this summer, and reports have suggested that the Germany international is nearing an exit as a free agent after the end of this campaign.
This latest development have caught the attention of Premier League clubs with Liverpool and Arsenal showing interest in signing the former Manchester City winger.
According to Sky Germany, Sane has been offered a new contract by Bayern until the summer of 2028; however, the extension would see him take up a significant wage drop. The German international currently earns €20 million (£17.2m/$22.3m) with the Bavarian, and he would see his salary drop to €10m (£9m/$11m) and around €15m (£13m/$17m) if he meets his performance criteria.
The report has also suggested that Sane is willing to stay at Bayern past this summer despite the wage, and that he is not open to a move back to the Premier League this summer.
Sane has played an important role under Vincent Kompany this season and he’ll be hoping that he can earn his extension with a strong showing at the end of the season.
Bayern are favourites to win the Bundesliga title this season and also have a chance to win the Champions League.
