Liverpool learn extent of Alisson hamstring injury as Slot suffer major setback

Published on

Liverpool are set to be without their first-choise goalkeeper Alisson until after the November international break, according to a new report.

Alisson limped off with a hamstring injury in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday and Slot admitted after the match that the Brazilian will likely miss their next game against Chelsea.

Liverpool will face Chelsea after October’s internationals and it’s been confirmed Alisson will miss that match and more to come.

According to The Times, Alisson’s injury is slightly more serious than first feared and scans have revealed he will need to spend over a month on the sidelines.

Not only will Alisson miss the Chelsea game, but Liverpool’s starting stopper will also be forced to watch matches against RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa from the sidelines.

Alisson is not expected to return until after the November international break.

It is still not clear if Alison will be fit by November when Liverpool face Southampton before a nightmare sequence of visits from Real Madrid and Manchester City in the week that follows.

Republic of Ireland international Caoimhin Kelleher will replace Alisson in goal though he missed the Palace game through illness.
