Man City star ‘arrested on suspicion of stealing mobile phone in nightclub’
Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone in a Madrid nightclub.
Nunes is said to have been held at disco La Riviera and taken to a police station for questioning. Spanish daily newspaper El Mundo said the arrest took place at around 5.30am on September 8.
It reported Nunes was accused of taking the phone from a 58-year-old man, who had tried to take a photo of him without permission in the nightclub toilets. The Portuguese international is alleged to have become angry, snatched the device and refused to return it.
El Mundo reported that police made the arrest after being called to the nightspot and confirming the footballer was still in possession of the phone.

Brazilian-born Nunes was reportedly handcuffed at the club before being taken to a National Police station in the Madrid neighbourhood of Arganzuela.
It is said the former Wolves player was released hours later following the intervention of a lawyer. El Mundo reported he is expected to face charges and a possible trial over the incident. National Police in Madrid could not be immediately reached for comment early this morning.
Following the alleged arrest, Nunes has played in matches for Pep Guardiola’s team against Brentford, Watford and in Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Slovan Bratislava.
