Matheus Cunha pays tribute to Wolves amidst transfer to Manchester United
Matheus Cunha has penned an emotional tribute message to Wolverhampton Wanderers and their fans as he prepares for a dream summer transfer to Manchester United.
Undoubtedly one of the biggest performers in the Premier League last season, Cunha has been a huge hit at Molineux, helping steer the club clear of a relegation fight. Linked with a January exit, Cunha signed a new deal to show his commitment and desire to Wolverhampton fans.
However, he’s now set for a new adventure with Manchester United prepared to pay the release clause included in his contract.
As talks continue to take place between both clubs, Cunha has taken to social media to pay tribute to the club’s fanbase.

He admitted that they didn’t get to the heights the supporters deserved but his personal exploits came due to the “dedication and love” he has for Wolves – despite potentially playing his last game for the club.
Cunha said on social media: “Wolves, what can I say to you? What an incredible season. We didn’t get to where you deserve to be, but we did everything we could to make you proud. I love these guys.
“Individually, it was the best season of my life. All of this was only possible because of all the dedication and love I have for this club. I became the Brazilian with the most goals in a Premier League season, along with @roberto_firmino and @gabriel.martinelli. I made mistakes and got things right, but always because I lived this club so much.
“All I ever wanted was to do the impossible for Wolves. Another one is over. And thank you all for all the affection. Looks good, looks fine…”
Cunha proved he can strive amidst speculations, equalling the most amount of goals scored in a Premier League season by a Brazilian. He found the back of the net on 15 occasions and is on the verge of becoming Ruben Amorim’s first summer signing at United.
