Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on Sunday made history by becoming the fastest manager ever to reach 250 wins, eclipsing Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.

Erling Haaland’s early first half goal ensured City recorded a deserving 1-0 victory over Brentford. The result saw them climb up to fifth in the league as they hope to mount a title challenge.

Guardiola in the proces eclipsed legendary managers like Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger as he achieved the feat in just 349 matches.

He is the fastest manager to reach the landmark.

Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson completed his 250th victory in his 404th game, while Wenger did it in 423 outings. Another ex-United manager and current Everton boss David Moyes won his 250th game in 645 matches.

After suffering back-to-back defeats against Spurs and Brighton at the start of the season, Guardiola’s City are slowly picking up form as they remain unbeaten in their last four league matches and seven across all competitions.

The three points at the Gtech Community Stadium also helped them to climb up to the fifth position on the league table.

However, Guardiola will have to get a new update about the fitness of Rodri who suffered another injury blow on Sunday.

The former Ballon d’Or winner was forced to leave the pitch just 20 minutes into the game. The Spain international was able to walk from the field, but was clearly in some discomfort and could be facing up to another spell on the sidelines.
