Report: Real Madrid exploring possible return of club legend in January

Published on

Real Madrid have started the 2024/25 season in an unimpressive manner. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are six points behind Barcelona in La Liga and are not well placed on the Champions League table.

The club have failed to build on their impressive form in the 2023/24 season despite bringing in the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick in the summer. Latest report have now claimed Madrid are exploring the possible return of their club legend in January.

Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro, who now plays for Manchester United has been linked with a shock move back to Santiago Bernebeu.

According to reports from the Brazilian outlet Trivela (h/t Mundo Deportivo), the Spanish giants are contemplating a move to re-sign Casemiro to help address their midfield concerns, particularly given the recent injuries affecting their squad.

Casemiro left Real Madrid in 2022 to join Manchester United but has faced huge criticism for his performance in recent weeks.

Despite this, Madrid are considering the possibility of bringing him back to bolster their midfield options, a move that manager Carlo Ancelotti would reportedly welcome.

On the positive side for United fans, Trivela also reports that Casemiro has no intention of leaving Old Trafford anytime soon. The 32-year-old is excited about the new direction the club is taking under manager Ruben Amorim.

He believes that his journey at Real Madrid is now behind him, and he is fully committed to his current role at Old Trafford. Madrid on the other hand will have to look elsewhere for their midfield player.

Ruben Amorim is expected to start an exciting adventure at United and Casemiro wants to get part of the team.
