Robert Lewandowski names Real Madrid legend as his toughest-ever opponent
Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has named a Real Madrid’s legend as his toughest opponent – an option that might come as a huge surprise.
Undoubtedly one of the best strikers of the past two decades, Lewandowski has become famous for his goalscoring exploits. He has proved himself in the Bundesliga and currently scoring for fun in La Liga.
With former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick now in charge of Barcelona, Lewandowski has continued his good form at the age of 36.
Barcelona are set to face Real Madrid in their next La Liga match and Lewandowski has previously explained how a Los Blancos legend was his ‘toughest opponent’.
“The toughest opponent? There are plenty of good defenders, but it has always been great to have duels against Sergio Ramos,” he told GOAL in 2019.
“I was always happy to be able to compete with him,” he added.

With Real Madrid now without Sergio Ramos, Lewandowski will be coming up against Antonio Rudiger whom has grown to become one of the most feared defenders in recent season.
The Poland international is firing on all cylinders with 12 La Liga goals in ten games, including two in Sunday evening’s 5-1 win over Sevilla – making it ten strikes in his last six appearances.
Real Madrid will offer Lewandowski another chance to prove himself on the biggest stage and he’ll be eager to get on the score sheet.
On the contrary, Barcelona will also be wary of the threat possessed by Real Madrid’s front line of Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham.
