Ruben Amorim reacts as Leny Yoro makes long-awaited Man Utd debut

Manchester United were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal on Wednesday night but the night was a positive one for Leny Yoro who made his long-awaited debut.

Having joined United from Lille in the summer, Yoro has been ruled out since undergoing surgery on a foot injury suffered against the Gunners during pre-season. However, he made his return to competitive action at the Emirates Stadium.

Ranked among the best young defenders, Yoro replaced Harry Maguire with around half an hour to go in north London and Amorim was pleased with what he saw.

“You can feel it, the talent, the speed, the way he handled one against ones in a difficult stadium after a lot of time without playing,” he told talkSPORT.

The 19-year-old will hope to step up his return to full fitness when Forest come to Old Trafford on Saturday.

Amorim has hinted at changes for that game with the frantic fixture schedule in mind: “In this moment, it is impossible to play with the same team.

“They [the players] have to feel they are part of the team, but we are changing the methodology, we are changing a lot of things. We are changing the way we play, the way we press, so we have to have all the players fit. We cannot have injuries in this moment because it will be tough to cope with all the games so we will manage the way we feel is the better way for the team.”

Amorim suffered his first defeat as Manchester United’s manager and he will be eager to get back to winning ways this weekend.
