He’ll regret! Salah warned over potential Liverpool exit

Published on

Jamie Carragher has warned Mohamed Salah that he will regret his decision if he leaves Liverpool in the January transfer window.

Salah made headlines some days ago after his explosive interview about the clubs’ top hierarchy and manager Arne Slot. The Egyptian forward accused his manager of throwing him under the bus.

Slot tried to sweep the issue under the carpet, but Salah will have plenty of time to think about his future while away on international duty.

The Egyptian forward was welcomed back into the fold by Slot for the 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday but there are claims he has played his last game for the club and would leave after the Africa Cup of Nations.

Speculation state that he could leave for Saudi Arabia or the MLS in the New Year.

Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has now clarify the issue about Salah’s future.

“I don’t see Mo Salah playing for Liverpool next season,” he said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football programme before pleading with Salah and his agent to at least make it until the end of the season before leaving.

“What we see there (after the Brighton win) is nicer than what we saw at Elland Road. But does Mo Salah deserve more than that, as a Liverpool player? He deserves a guard of honour.

“So put your differences with the manager aside and just think three or four months at Liverpool. OK, the worst thing that’s going to happen is I get this big send off. The best thing that’s going to happen is I’m walking out with my teammates in Budapest for the Champions League final. And if he was sat in Saudi Arabia, watching Liverpool do that, I think he’d really regret it.”

Salah started on the bench against Brighton but was introduced as a first-half and provided an assist for Hugo Ekitike.

It took his tally for goal involvements up to 277 for the Reds in the Premier League, which is more than any other player has managed for a single club.
