Xabi Alonso outlines his plan for Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid unveiling

New Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has outlined his plans for England star Jude Bellingham after being unveiled as the Los Blancos manager.

Alonso replaced Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu after a successful two-year stint with Bayer Leverkusen. He will now be tasked with managing top talents like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham.

Speaking at his unveiling, Alonso who also played for Real Madrid during his playing days revealed his plans to make Los Blancos an ‘unstoppable force’.

Jude Bellingham is likely to play a central role in the team. The 21-year-old lit up La Liga after joining Real in 2023 and bagged 23 goals and 13 assists in his debut season, being utilised in an advanced role.

Alonso spoke very highly of the Bellingham and clearly has thought out his role in future plans.

“Bellingham is in a good position to work with,” said Alonso at his unveiling. “I see him as a midfielder. We’ll strive to make him as effective as possible.”

“Bellingham can be special anywhere,” Alonso added. “He’s an exceptional player.

“His emergence marks a milestone in Real Madrid’s history. He’s 21 years old and will be a key element in the club’s future projects.”

Alonso was also questioned about how he would get the best from Mbappe and Vinicius Jr in his system. The pair are among Real’s most potent threats but have shown some tendency to operate in similar areas.

It appears Les Merengues’ head coach is not too concerned about any issues however. “It’s a blessing that we have players of that level,” he said.

“Not just Kylian or Vinicius, but many others as well. They are game-changing players who make a difference, and we have to get the best out of them. If they are at their maximum level, the team will be much more successful.

“I have ideas. There’s still time before we meet with them. But for me, communication about what we want is very important. These are high-level players, and that’s the task I’m responsible for.
