Xabi Alonso Tipped To Coach Premier League Side if Sacked

Xabi Alonso could be on his way out of Real Madrid despite arriving at the club at the end of last season.

The former Bayern Leverkusen manager is currently feeling the heat of managing a big team like Real Madrid. Despite starting the season strongly, a loss to Liverpool in the Champions League and back-to-back games in La Liga have raised eyebrows.

Various reports have also claimed Alonso’s relationship with some players in the squad have crashed beyond repair.

Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr. have been mentioned among the players not pleased with Alonso’s management, a move that has resulted in rumors that the Spanish tactician job is not safe.

However, a Football365 report, citing sources, reveals that if Alonso is fired, he would be very interested in the Liverpool job.

Once a player at the club, Alonso still shares a special bond with Liverpool. The hierarchy also had him down as a first-choice replacement for Jurgen Klopp.

Current Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is under pressure as well. After winning the Premier League title in his debut season, the Reds are struggling big time.

The Merseyside club sits in 12th position, 11 points behind league leaders Arsenal. They have now lost six of 12 league games, and retaining their Premier League title looks unlikely even at this early stage.

While it’s not looking like both managers will be sacked by their respective clubs, a run of bad form could change things especially Alonso who is reportedly in a feud with some of his players.
