West Ham United Close to Sealing Two January Deals

Published on

West Ham are progressing in talks to sign Adama Traore from Fulham, while James Ward-Prowse has been given permission to undergo a medical at Burnley.

The Hammers are looking to reunite Fulham winger Traore with his former boss at Wolves, Nuno Espirito Santo, and a deal had been in place between the two clubs before negotiations broke down over the weekend.

However, latest report claim that talks are now back on track over a permanent transfer, with Traore keen for more minutes, having started just one Premier League game for Fulham this season.

Traore, whose contract at Craven Cottage expires in the summer, would become West Ham’s fourth signing of the January window so far, following the arrivals of Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos, Pablo Felipe and Keiber Lamadrid.

Traore would provide depth on the flanks for the Hammers as they look to stave off relegation to the Championship.

Meanwhile, Ward-Prowse is set to leave the club.

The England international has yet to feature under Nuno and was named in a matchday squad by the Portuguese coach for the first time against Sunderland on Saturday.

Ward-Prowse is now set to join fellow Premier League strugglers Burnley on loan until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old would follow the likes of Niclas Fullkrug, Andy Irving, Luis Guilherme and Guido Rodriguez in leaving the London Stadium this month, while West Ham are also expected to bring an imminent early end to Brazilian defender Igor Julio’s season-long loan from Brighton.
