Jurgen Klopp reveals Liverpool’s best finisher and it’s up for debate

Published on

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has clarified the best finisher debate at the club as he noted that Mohamed Salah is ahead of others.

The Reds have been impressive in front of goal this season and this continued on Sunday after when Liverpool defeated Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage.

A sublime Trent Alexander-Arnold free kick opened the scoring on Sunday afternoon before Ryan Gravenberch’s stunning strike and a Diogo Jota finish cemented Liverpool’s win.

After the match, Klopp spoke about Diogo Jota who returned from injury and how he can help the team in front of goal.

Jota is averaging a goal once every 115 minutes in the Premier League, the best rate of any player with at least five non-penalty strikes.

Klopp also seized the moment to speak about Liverpool’s best finisher as the club continue to fight for the Premier League title.

“The best finisher in this club is obviously Mo [Mohamed] Salah with some distance,” Klopp added. “It is just super-cool to have Diogo back, he can play all three positions up front,” Klopp said.

Liverpool’s victory over Fulham saw them rise above Manchester City into second place in the Premier League table behind Arsenal, who are only leading the way on goal difference.

Klopp’s side now have the small matter of a Merseyside derby with Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday, before kicking off the weekend’s action away to West Ham United on Saturday lunchtime.
