NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE — Substitute Jacob Ramsey struck late in the game to rescue a thrilling 2–2 draw for Newcastle United against a resilient AFC Bournemouth side at St. James’ Park.
The pulsating encounter saw Matthias Jaissle’s Magpies fight back from a two-goal deficit, maintaining their unbeaten start to the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, while Bournemouth were left to rue another winning position slipping through their fingers.
Bournemouth Take Control in First Half
The Cherries arrived on Tyneside with immense tactical discipline and seized control early on. Inside the opening ten minutes, Marcus Tavernier capitalized on a loose ball following Alex Scott’s deflected effort to stab home the opening goal.

With just two minutes of normal time remaining (88′), the ball fell kindly to substitute Jacob Ramsey inside the penalty box, and he kept his composure to steer a brilliant first-time finish into the bottom corner, sparking wild celebrations at the Gallowgate End.
